Dedicated Family Law Attorney & American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Member
American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Member
Helping people through difficult transitions has always been second nature to Kristin, inspired by her parents who set an example of passionately helping others in crisis.
Kristin is a dedicated family law attorney in Lee’s Summit, MO and a proud member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. With extensive experience in complex family law matters, she brings compassion and strategic insight to every case she handles.
An experienced litigator, Kristin has tried a wide range of family law cases and resolved many more through negotiated settlement. She approaches every matter the same way: handle it thoroughly and get it right, while staying mindful of the time and expense the process demands of her clients. When a case can be resolved efficiently, she resolves it — and when it needs to be tried, she is ready.
Kristin graduated with honors from the University of Missouri – Kansas City before earning her law degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law. Her passion for family law was evident early: she interned in the domestic unit of Legal Aid of Western Missouri, clerked for a Kansas City firm focused on domestic matters, and volunteered with several nonprofits, including Mother’s Refuge, a shelter for pregnant teens, and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City.
After law school, Kristin deepened her expertise through a two-year clerkship with the Honorable Sherrill Rosen of the Family Court in Jackson County, Missouri. With her office located directly in the courtroom, she observed trials, hearings, and proceedings daily — absorbing the rhythms of family court from the inside.
For several years, Kristin also served as a guardian ad litem, appointed by the court to represent children in custody actions involving allegations of abuse or neglect. This role gave her substantial trial experience in custody litigation and a perspective she carries into every case: the discipline of viewing a dispute through the eyes of the child whose future is at stake, not merely a parent’s interests.
Over the years, Kristin has tried a number of contested cases to judgment and co-counseled on several more, giving her significant courtroom experience across the range of family law disputes. That trial background informs how she prepares every matter — building each case as though it will be tried, which strengthens her position whether it ultimately resolves by settlement or in front of a judge.
Kristin has briefed and argued family law appeals before Missouri’s appellate court. A member of the AAML herself, Kristin has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2021, 2022, and 2026. She credits much of her success to the mentorship of Anita Rodarte and the guidance of the Honorable Sherrill Rosen.
